Here is Angler Jeff Markland with beautiful Halibut caught on the 1/2 Patriot out of Newport landing.

We arrived at Santa Cruz Island early in the morning. The fish started to bite around 11 AM. Rustain Lane from Seal Beach, CA was fortunate and caught a nice Halibut. Congratulations Rusty! Be sure to see the video for Rustys catch, too!

Webmaster Chad Woods form Thousand Oaks caught this nice 12 pound Halibut at Santa Cruz Island!

Steve, the only person not to go into the Jackpot, caught what would have been the Jackpot winning Halibut! He did learn a lot and caught two Halibut.

FISH COUNT: 13 Anglers caught 9 Halibut. They ranged in size from 5 pounds to 22 pounds. Deckhand Steve displays a nice Halibut that Captain John Wood caught and gladly shared with some of the unfortunate anglers. Thanks for the great trip. It looks like some of us may qualify for the FISH OFF!
